About Congregation Bikur Cholim B'nai Yisroel

Congregation Bikur Cholim B'nai Yisroel was built in 1926 by a group of local farmers
who resided in between Swan Lake and White Lake NY. This new building saved them several miles of travel. There was regular daily Minyan and weekly Shabbot services. Founding families from the area that were active with the Temple were the Lymars, Wodas, Shagrins, Furmans, Millers, Brusteins, Wertmans, Goldwassers, Wasserlaufs and Rottermans. New families came to the area, and the Gewirtz, Lerner, Wilner, Millman and Lindenbaums became involved.
The congregation has always held services for the High Holidays except for two years that the structure had to close for repairs. Since the mid 1980's the Congregation has been led by the Lymar, Millman, and Lindenbaum families. The shul continues to thrive and is supported by an involved congregation that is determined to keep the building alive.
